David Kees Named Interim Assistant City Manager - Community for Duncanville

DUNCANVILLE, TX – The City of Duncanville is happy to announce that David Kees has been named Interim Assistant City Manager - Community. David has been with the City since October 2021 and has worked as both the Assistant to the City Manager and as Interim Assistant City Manager from April 2023 to January 2024.

David Kees has over seven years of municipal government experience. Prior to coming to the City of Duncanville, he served as the Executive Assistant to the Parish President and then Director of Planning and Zoning for the Parish of Natchitoches, Louisiana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Centenary College of Louisiana and a master’s degree from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.

"We are excited to have David take on this role," said City Manager Douglas E. Finch. "In this role David will continue working to make our city more responsive to the needs of our community."

"I am honored to be appointed as Interim Assistant City Manager - Community," said David Kees. "I’m excited to work with our team to improve our parks, library, and other city services. My goal is to make sure our residents always feel supported and cared for by their city."

Kees has already begun his transition into his new role overseeing the Parks and Recreation, Duncanville Fieldhouse, Duncanville Public Library, Communications and Marketing, and Customer Advocacy departments. Working with these departments, Mr. Kees will focus on improvements to services, community engagement, and quality customer service.

His unwavering dedication and willingness to contribute are commendable and greatly appreciated. David has indeed demonstrated the skills necessary to manage his new responsibilities.
