DUNCANVILLE, TX—The City of Duncanville is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Bryant to Director of Public Works.
"We conducted a search for the best possible talent to serve Duncanville and its constituents and found that the best was already here," said City Manager Douglas E. Finch. "Matt Bryant stood out from the pool of talented candidates we interviewed. He has the background, experience here in Duncanville, and innovative thinking skills our organization needs going forward."
Mr. Bryant began working for Duncanville over 15 years ago as a Maintenance Worker in the Water and Wastewater division. His promotions during his time with the City include Crew Leader in 2009, Water Field Supervisor in 2010, Utilities Superintendent in 2019, and Assistant Director of Public Works on April 8, 2024.
"I'm very excited about the direction Duncanville is going with this team. We are all full of new ideas, ambition, and follow through," said Matt Bryant. "I never imagined that, as a student at Duncanville High School, I would play such a vital role in my hometown. I owe it all to the great men who trained me in the ditch with sharpshooters and mud wrenches."
