Ron Wilcots, Assistant Chief of Police
Assistant Chief of Police Ron Wilcots began his law enforcement career with Duncanville in 1999. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Bailiff, School Resource Officer, Training and Personnel Background Investigator, Field Training Officer, SWAT member, and Texas Crime Stoppers liaison. His past supervisory roles include Senior SRO, Patrol Supervisor, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Interim Assistant Chief. He was named Assistant Chief of Police on September 8, 2024.
He is a graduate of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy (SLI, CLI, ELI), the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) 123rd School of Police Supervision, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) 55th Executive School of Leadership, and the 1st Duncanville Leadership Academy. He holds a Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Lamar University, where he graduated with Latin honors (Magna Cum Laude). He is also the Duncanville Police Department's 2010 Officer of the Year recipient.
Assistant Chief Wilcots will Command the Support function of the Police Department, overseeing Criminal Investigations, Crime Prevention, and Professional Standards Divisions.
