Mr. David Kees
David Kees is a native of Natchitoches, LA. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Centenary College of Louisiana, and a Master’s of Science degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern State University. Additionally, he spent two semesters pursuing a law degree at Louisiana State University.
After graduating with his Master’s in 2010 Mr. Kees spent the next two years working in professional sports: first as an intern in the ticket office for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball and then as a group services associate with the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) of the National Basketball Association.
After a league-wide lockout ended his time with the Hornets, Mr. Kees went to work selling insurance for a State Farm Agency in Shreveport, LA. After a little over a year in insurance, Mr. Kees returned to his hometown of Natchitoches in 2013 to go to work for Bank of Montgomery as a loan officer and branch manager.
Mr. Kees’ career in local government began in 2017 when he was hired by the Parish of Natchitoches to be the Executive Assistant to the Parish President. During his time with the Parish, he spent three years as the Director of Planning and Zoning, which included coordinating the Parish’s building permits and inspections, while continuing to serve as the Executive Assistant to the President.
In October of 2021, Mr. Kees was hired as the Executive Assistant to the City Manager in Duncanville and was promoted to Assistant to the City Manager in March of 2022. He was appointed as Interim Assistant City Manager in March of 2023, a role in which he served until January of 2024. He currently serves as the Assistant to the City Manager.
